Starshot

Starshot Express (Grand Prize Winner)

hackathon

Project Overview: UCSD HackXR 2018. Attended over two days to create a fun VR train game on Unity called Starshot Express. Since I was a beginner I created the terrain assets for the game while my team created the train and the functions for shoveling coal.

Outcome: To our surprise our team came in first, winning the grand prize of sponsored headsets! Not only did the judges find it exhilarating and polished, but they were astounded by the sound and light effects that many other groups were unable to finish in the allotted time. Our project would later be added to the XR Club’s virtual library. I think one of the biggest things it taught me was how to learn. As I watched my team, I saw that they also stumbled and researched how to do things that they didn't know.
